Membership Type Descriptions

 

 

Active Professional Membership (Most Common) ($85) is available to professionals who actively support the purposes and objectives of the Association and whose primary work is either directly in educational opportunity programs and services or in a professional field that indirectly promotes educational opportunities. Active Professional members must be members in good standing of a recognized Chapter chartered by the Association, must reside or work within the Association's borders and must pay the annual dues as established by the Board of Directors. Active Professional Members are entitled to one vote and are eligible to hold office.

Affiliate Membership ($45) is available to alumni, retirees, graduate students and others who support the purposes and objectives of the Association and have an interest in broadening accessibility to and success in formal postsecondary education, but are not engaged directly in educational opportunity programs and services. Affiliate Members are entitled to voice, but are not eligible to vote or hold office.

Organizational Membership (Cost based on Levels below) is available for any organization, whether an educational institution, nonprofit organization, corporation, business, or agency having an active interest in promoting the goals of the Association. Organizational members must be members in good standing with the Association and must pay the annual dues as established by the Board of Directors. Each Organizational member shall be allowed individuals, up to the level of paid membership dues, to become certified to represent the organization at meetings of, or otherwise in connection with, the Association/Chapter and receive member rates for attendance and participation. Each individual certified under and Organizational membership are entitled to voice, but are not eligible to vote or hold office.

Organizational Membership -- Level 1 ($140/person): Up to 5 members
Organizational Membership -- Level 2 ($130/person): Up to 9 members
Organizational Membership -- Level 3 ($120/person): Up to 14 members
Organizational Membership -- Level 4 ($110/person): Up to 19 members
Organizational Membership -- Level 5 ($100/person): 20+ members

Honorary Active Professional Membership is limited to current Active Professionals in recognition of extraordinary service to the Association. Honorary Active Professional Members are entitled to both voice and vote, as well as eligible to hold office.

Honorary Membership may be conferred upon an individual, institution, organization, foundation or business. Honorary Members are entitled to voice, but are not eligible to vote or hold office.
