McNair/SSS Retreat

The retreat will be held virtually this year on Sept. 25th and Sept. 26th.

Do your students have questions about how to select the right graduate school for them?  Do they wonder how they will pay for their advanced degrees?  Have they encountered a few “bumps in the road” during their undergrad days and are afraid they may prevent them from getting into the grad school of their choice? The answer to these questions and more will be addressed at the WAEOPP McNair/SSS Retreat!

Don Asher, the nationally recognized authority on the graduate school admissions process, will be conducting the retreat.

All McNair, SSS, and Multicultural Affairs students are invited to participate in the retreat.  WAEOPP has sponsored the event for over 15 years.

  • Don Asher's session features: information on graduate school applications, the GRE, personal statements, funding, self-advocacy, and graduate school program structure.
  • Other conference sessions include: a graduate student alumni panel, opportunities for students to speak one-on-one with graduate alumni, graduate school virtual visits, and Grad School 101 and funding/financial literacy sessions.
  • Registration covers: the cost of the virtual event and access to speakers, as well as 30-day access to a "graduate school preparation" materials folder that includes optional resources.
  • Registration is $100/participant. There is no limit on the number of registrants per school. Deadline to register is September 18, 2020.
