WAEOPP COVID-19 Program Roundtable-SSS
Director's from TRIO programs throughout WAEOPP form across the state have planned a series of virtual conversations to help programs during the Covid-19 Health Crises.  Below is a link to the first conversation as well as a document that can be viewed.  Questions about the virtual conversations can be directed to the Co-Chairs of the Professional Development Committee, Garry Moise and Jeff Galligan.

Members Involved in Leadership and Engagement (MILE) Program

 Are you looking for professional development opportunities for yourself or a staff member?  Do you want to learn more about educational opportunity programs?  Consider WAEOPP’s MILE program!

Purpose: To create a network of engaged TRIO professionals in the WAEOPP chapter; increase knowledge of WAEOPP, EOA, and COE; understand the importance of state and federal advocacy; and think critically about enhancing the quality of the WAEOPP chapter.

Target Participants: at least 8 WAEOPP members who:

• Are interested in learning more about TRIO history and associations;
• Are newer professionals;
• Are seasoned professionals who want to be more involved;
• Have had minimal involvement in the chapter;
• Are interested in expanding their leadership skills, networking, and building community.

Program Highlights:

  • February 2020 - First face-to-face meeting (exact date TBD)

  • March 2020 - online training (exact date TBD)

  • April 29-May 1, 2020 – WAEOPP Annual Spring Conference (WI Dells, WI)

  • May 2020 – online training (exact date TBD)

  • August 2020 – In-person, in conjunction with WAEOPP Board meeting (exact date TBD)

  • September 2020 – online training (exact date TBD)

  • October 2020 – In-person OR online training (exact date TBD)

  • November 2020 (optional EOA Conference – Detroit, MI; recognition only)

Each MILE participant (or program/institution) pays $100 to offset portion of costs of training materials. Mileage and meals during trainings are covered with this fee.

MILE participant (or program/institution) covers meals during travel time.

Curriculum may include but not be limited to: TRIO history, mentoring, evaluation, leadership assessments/reflections, quality improvement tools, readings, WAEOPP committee member work, networking and final presentation to the WAEOPP board.

The EOA Foundation provides scholarships and awards to TRIO and educational opportunity program students in the ten-state region served by EOA.
